A new and clean heart within my sinful heart

O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear … Psalms 10:17 (ESV)

Note what the Lord hears in prayer, “the desire of the afflicted.” Notice that the Lord listens far more than to the words offered up in prayer. He listens deeper than merely the words of the mouth, He listens to the heart for it is out of the heart that all things proceed. Even in the midst of all the evil that spews for from our hearts, our Lord has ears to hear the desire of humble heart.

A new and clean heart within my sinful heart;

a humble and clean heart that lives and believes as the Lord Himself created in me through His Word and His Spirit;
a humble heart that finds no worthiness in me to call Him Lord or call upon Him as my Lord, yet calls because He has made Himself my Lord;
a humble heart that sets me before the mighty Lord as I really am, because as the Lord, He freely welcomes and saves me from all that I am so that I may be His own;
a humble heart that looks to the Lord alone to save me from my sinful heart, my sins and the sins of others that press me on every side;
a humble heart that, though I be burdened by the woe that is upon me for I am a man of unclean lips, still looks to the Lord of Hosts who meets me in my woe on the Cross to save me;
a humble heart that calls only on the name of Lord to be saved and strengthened;
a humble heart that rejoices in God my Savior who loves to fill to overflowing, all that I have emptied;
a humble heart that rejoices in God my Savior who loves to make straight all that I have bent;
a humble heart that rejoices in God my Savior who loves to completely take away every burden laid upon me by myself or others;
a humble heart of faith, out of which come righteous desires and words that the Lord always hears and answers.

A humble heart of faith, that though it be ever so small, ever so tiny, is still the holy temple of the Holy Spirit who keeps me in the true faith through Jesus Christ the Lord.

Have mercy Lord, and hear my prayer.

A Prayer When You're Not Sure What to Pray

Often time, when you’re in the midst of things so great, you’re not sure what to pray. I offer this version of the Lord’s Prayer for you to pray while thinking about some thing or someone you’re struggling with or hoping the best for.

OUR FATHER,
my Father, and the Father of every one of us,

WHO ART IN HEAVEN,
Who is over me and the one(s) I name in my heart, reigning in mercy and blessed faithfulness,

HALLOWED BE THY NAME,
let Your name be holy in my life and the life of the one(s) I name in my heart,
let Your name so pure to me and us all, that we only speak it to pray, to praise or share You with others.

THY KINGDOM COME,
let Your kingdom come to me and the one(s) I name in my heart,
let the power of Jesus Christ, His life, His death, and His resurrection come to me and one(s) I name in my heart so that we may be changed and transformed by Your Holy Spirit from despair to hope, fear to courage, and life to death,

THY WILL BE DONE,
yes, Lord, choose for me and the one(s) I name in my heart, that which is best, that which is the greatest good to be done in my life and theirs,

HERE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD,
give to me and the one(s) I name in my heart, what we need for this day,
give to us the job, the home, the family, the friends, the food, the clothing that we need for this day and no more,
give to us the healing, the comfort, the strength, the recovery, the prosperity needed that we may not loose heart but ever trust in You.

FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES,
forgive me and the one(s) I name in my heart, for all the times we have crossed the line, when we have what we ought not to have done and refuse to do the good we ought to have done
free us from these things that we my have Your peace in the midst of things that can offer us no peace,

AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US,
help me and the one(s) I name in my heart, to forgive as we are forgiven, to let go of all the ways that others have crossed the line with us or others,
lead us to let go of all that was done against us, and knowing that all these go into Your hands that were nailed on the cross for my trespasses and theirs.

AND LET US NOT INTO TEMPTATION,
yes Lord, let no other way be set before me, and the one(s) I name in my heart, that would lead us away from You and Your good and gracious will for us,
when any such other ways are set before us, lead on my Lord and my King that I and the one I name in my heart, may not turn to the right or the left,

BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL,
yes Lord, grant that whenever I and the one(s) I name in my heart, departs from You and Your ways, come and save us from such evil and deliver us back into Your forgiveness and favor,
deliver us from the power of the evil one and the evil desires of our own hearts that we may not lose our way.
I pray all these things for myself, and the one(s) I name in my heart, because Your is the KINGDOM AND THE POWER to get these things done to Your
GLORY, FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.
